Most people think of a sofa bed as a fixed decision. You pick the model, you pick the colour shown in the photo, and that's what arrives. That's not actually how it works here, and it's one of the parts of the process customers are most surprised by once they realise it in the showroom. Every design in our range can be made to order in the fabric of your choice. The design you pick determines the mechanism, the comfort, the footprint. The fabric determines almost everything about how it actually feels in your home, and that decision is entirely yours. With over 40 fabrics to choose from we'll walk you through a few steps on how to choose what's best for your space.
Two Ways to Approach It: Bold Statement or Seamless Fit
There isn't a right answer here, just two different design directions, and most people land somewhere between them once they start looking at swatches in person.
The bold statement approach treats the sofa bed as the anchor piece of the room, not something that needs to recede into the background. Many of our designs feel more like a normal sofa rather than a sofa bed. So opting for a bold statement is a design choice we love.
Think a a warm Corduroy Burnt Orange, or a deep Esina Rust. Or opt for the light and vibrant Mix Dance Blue. These aren't safe choices, and they're not meant to be. A piece in one of these tones becomes the thing people notice first when they walk into the room, and it tends to suit homes that reflect your personality through choice.
The seamless fit approach goes the other way, choosing a fabric that settles into the room rather than announcing itself. Tones like Yuveno Natural, Kenya Gravel, or Esina Brown work with almost any palette, letting the sofa bed's design (the clean lines, the considered proportions) speak for itself rather than the colour doing the work. This tends to suit smaller spaces or homes where the furniture needs to blend with an existing scheme rather than reset it.

Texture Matters as Much as Colour
This is the part that's hardest to judge from a photo. Beyond colour, the fabric families themselves have very different textures, and that changes how a piece feels day to day, not just how it looks.
- Bouclé (Taupe, Ochre, Off White, Beige) has a soft, looped texture that reads as warm and tactile. This is the family behind a lot of the "70s comfort" look that's trending right now.
- Corduroy (Ivory, Burnt Orange) has a wide ribbed texture with real depth, catching light differently depending on the angle you view it from. Beautifully soft and truly eye-catching.
- Esina (Beige, Brown, Rust, Olive, Indigo, Mocha, Truffle) a short cut pile, with more subtly and visual movement, a good middle ground between smooth and tactile.
- Faunal (Black, Brown) leans smoother and more tailored, suited to a more formal or minimal room.
- Halifax amongst the smoothest, most classic weaves in the range. A performance fabric that is incredibly durable for heavy use spaces.
None of this comes through properly on a screen. Fabric is one of those things worth touching before you commit, which is exactly why we keep the full swatch range on hand in the showroom rather than just product photos online.
How to finalise your choice
A few questions worth asking yourself before you land on a fabric:
- Does the room already have a strong colour palette, or is it fairly neutral right now? A neutral room can carry a bolder fabric choice; a busy room can sometimes take more 'noise' or benefits from a quieter tone.
- How much natural light does the space get? Darker, richer tones (Esina Rust, Taura Chocco) tend to suit brighter rooms, where lighter neutrals can sometimes read as flat in low light.
- Who's using the piece, and how often? High-traffic households might lean toward a more forgiving, textured weave (Bouclé, Halifiax) over a very smooth, pale fabric that shows marks more easily.
If you're unsure, this is one of the most common conversations our sales staff have with customers in the showroom, walking through swatches against the actual pieces on the floor rather than guessing from a screen. Choosing the fabric is often the most time consuming because it is the most personal.

- Delivery Pre-Christmas guaranteed to Victoria customers and Sydney Metro
Given that made-to-order production takes real time regardless of the sale, this is one of the better windows in the year to order if a new sofa bed has been on your list, whether that's for your own home or as a considered gift.
